Andy Gillet grew up in Haute Savoie, France. Shortly after graduating from university he began both his modeling and acting careers. Andy’s first film was Nouvelle Chance directed by Anne Fontaine, and since then Andy has appeared in a number of international films, including Eric Rohmer’s The Romance of Astrea and Celadon, for which he won the Etoile d’Or award for Best New French Actor, and The Rift, directed by Philippe Terrier Hermann.
Andy has also performed onstage, in Caligula, directed by Charles Berling, and Cheri, directed by Robert Carsen, both in Paris. He is currently filming a TV adaptation of Marcel Proust’s La Recherche du Temps Perdu that will air in 2011.
As a model, Andy has worked with photographers such as Mario Testino, Paolo Reversi, and Peter Lindbergh in campaigns for Valentino, Burberry, Yves St Laurent, and Kenzo, among others.
